Social City is looking to hire a full-time speech language pathologist to lead social skills classes and provide individual speech-language therapy sessions. Therapist must be familiar with social-emotional curricula and have at least 1 year experience providing social skills therapy and leading groups. Strong communication and writing skills is a must. Social City is offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

We are also looking for qualified professionals including psychologists, social workers and teachers to join our team for part-time positions.

Social City is Hiring Volunteers!

We are accepting volunteers for our afternoon social skills group classes, full and half day boot camps and full day summer program. Groups, boot camps and our summer program target a variety of social skills topics through explicit (i.e. direct instruction, modeling, role-playing, etc.) and embedded (i.e. integrated into collaborative activities and interactive games) instruction. Topics include (but not limited to) initiating conversation, reading and responding to non-verbal language cues, active listening, flexibility, emotion management, and more!

WHY VOLUNTEER AT SOCIAL CITY?

  • Opportunity to acquire new skills and work directly with people ages 3 years through young adults

  • Experience working with neurotypical and neurodivergent populations

  • Introduction to social-emotional curricula (e.g., Zones of Regulation, Social Thinking)

  • Letter of recommendation based upon performance

  • Collaborating with Speech-Language Pathologists & related professionals/being part of the team approach

  • Observation of communication with families

  • Experience implementing behavioral management strategies (e.g., positive reinforcement)

  • Signing off on clinical observation

Role Expectations:

  • Support the group leader

  • Providing tools for emotional regulation (e.g. taking students on breaks, handing out fidgets)

  • Engaging in activities with enthusiasm

  • Help with set up/clean up

  • Foster healthy friendships among students
