Social Skills for Children Ages 2-16

Parent and Caregiver Workshops

Join us on May 8th for our next workshop on Executive Functioning!

Executive functioning is a core set of cognitive skills required for planning, completing, and evaluating the completion of tasks, as well as overseeing our communication exchanges. This includes functions such as attention, motivation, emotion regulation, organizing, reasoning, problem-solving, and flexibility.

Many children with weak executive functioning skills, are not visualizing, or forming a picture in their mind, a skill almost always needed to plan ahead, complete tasks in a timely manner, and/or reflect back on experiences.

To improve children’s executive functioning skills, we can strengthen their visualization, as well as provide visual supports to compensate for this skill. In this workshop, we will discuss several evidence-based methods to both strengthen and compensate for children’s visualization.
