Social City has given my child a sense of community, belonging, a forum to be heard, and a safe space to learn valuable life lessons about social dynamics and interactions. We have also had the opportunity to connect with other parents and share stories, trials, and triumphs. The leadership is wonderful about coordinating with schools and other educators, and maintains open communication throughout. We are so glad to have found Social City!

I just want you to know that your excellent work at Social City is having and has had a significant impact on O.N.'s pragmatic skills! During one dyad he told his peer partner (who was having a difficult day) to go to "Social City" and learn how to control himself and calm down. I see him spontaneously approaching peers , greeting them, at times giving a compliment, and asking them to notice his new shirt or something requiring a response. He is attempting to engage selected peers in novel ways. I also appreciate you emailing the session plans. Thank you.

Brandon took a social skills group class in the summer, but he has truly made the connection between what he's learning in Social City and what goes on in his day to day.

He enjoys going to you guys every Thursday, has been requesting play dates and looking forward to being with friends! He is so much more confident in greeting others, and speaking to and answering other children in a clear voice, even if the child does not reply.  He also doesn't seem to tense his body up and lose his voice as he had in the past.

I know it takes a lot of time and practice, and results are not immediate, but it is encouraging to see him move forward and grow, and manage his selective mutism/anxiety, and also be more aware of what he's feeling.

I could keep going, but I just wanted to let you know that your work is making a huge positive impact on my little man's life.

Tara - I wanted to thank you after class on Monday Nicholas and I ran into a work colleague who he has met many times. He asked her if she remembered him she said yes and then he asked her how she was ? She said fine and went about how he grown.

Point is this was the first time he has asked anyone how they were. I nearly started crying with joy.  I really do think you guys do a great job. Thank you!!!

Thank you both for an incredible experience.  Jake has learned so much from both of you and the incredible program you’ve created.  We will always be grateful.  Jake is now friends with a wide group of kids at school, which I attribute to what he’s learned at Social City.

I am impressed with the Social City program Tara Ferrara and Aly Spira have created to help children socially and academically. Their backgrounds in education, specializing in speech and language, make them uniquely trained to provide a curriculum designed to assist children struggling with social skills, vital to the overall development of every child. Both Tara and Aly are committed to helping children feel empowered and build on their strengths. They recognize the importance of individual attention to each child, but also recognize how crucial positive interpersonal experiences are as well. I think they have tremendous services to offer for a broad range of children.

Social City has exceeded my expectations!  Tara and Aly provide a comprehensive social skills curriculum that is presented in a meaningful, fun, engaging, and child-friendly way.  They are great at working with children with varying presentations and needs.  Aside from offering a great social skills program, I also appreciate their commitment to collaboration.  Parents not only receive feedback on their child’s progress and the skills they are learning, upon request they can also receive specific suggestions on how to encourage their child to use the skills in other settings.  Furthermore, Tara and Aly are happy to collaborate with teachers and other professionals.  The overwhelmingly positive feedback I receive from the parents, coupled with my own positive experiences collaborating with Tara and Aly, reaffirms my confidence in referring Social City to parents who ask about social skills groups.  

Just wanted to mention that we had Jason’s parent-teacher meeting today and we thrilled to report that she said that in the past few weeks he’s really grown and now “meets expectations” on all the social-emotional benchmarks. We are really happy about this. He went from “needs improvement” in the first quarter (Fall) to mostly “approaching expectations” (mid-year) to “meets expectations” on everything. He is doing well with collaborating with other kids in ways he was never able to before. Thanks for the part that you played in that.

Rufus had a great semester at Social City. He has grown so fond of his classmates and I have noticed an ease around conflicts that arise at school. I wholeheartedly endorse Social City for any child who needs support and strategies in their social lives.

I highly recommend social city! My son has made enormous progress and is definitely more at ease in social situations. Aly and Tara are truly wonderful! They know how to keep children engaged and interested in whatever they are doing. This is by far the best social group I've come across!

Alexandra and Tara are very professional and committed to helping kids communicate better.  Our son Nicholas benefitted tremendously, from participating in their class.

Jesse absolutely LOVES this program. He can not wait for Thursday to roll around. We have tried a handful of other social groups and this one is by far the best. The teachers do a great job of incorporating fun games with structure and purpose and most importantly get US parents involved with frequent feed back and pictures. I, too , look forward to the weekly updates from Aly and Tara.

This is the best social skills program we have ever seen--and we have been to half dozen, at least! The teachers are warm and involved. They've developed an extremely thorough and thoughtful curriculum that involves inventive game-playing in many different ways. The sessions teach skills while being fun at the same time. My son really loves this class! I would recommend it without hesitation.

This program was great for my son- he couldn't wait to join each week! Ali and Tara are so motivating and my son has really learned so much about relating to others. I would strongly recommend Social City.
